THE HER SUIT REVOLUTION

About The Documentarian
One day my sister had come home from college and had a fully grown patch of underarm hair. I was surprised, but intrigued by her new self-care development. Throughout her time at home for winter break, my mother repeatedly questioned my sister about it, making it clear it was something she didn't understand, but was trying to be supportive of my sister's choices. This got me thinking about this standard of beauty and how/why it came to be. If men don't have to shave why do women? I was completely fascinated by the fact that something as trivial as body hair could become a national debate. Through this blooming curiosity, I got inspired to make a documentary on the subject, and Her Suit was born.
Her Suit was intended to be a way to spark conversation about the pressures of shaving for females, and absorb all sides of the topic. This documentary is also meant to capture the history and industry of shaving, so that people can further understand how their follicle appearance is being affected in today's society.
